BBC weather warning: Savage heatwave to break records across Europe as UK nudges 38C

EUROPE is being crippled by the scorching Saharan heatwave which is set to peak on Thursday with record-breaking temperatures of up to 42C in Paris, the BBC has warned.

BBC meteorologist Susan Powell said that the records have already begun to tumble, starting with Bordeaux on Tuesday which rocketed up to 40C. Ms Powell said: “For Europe, the weather forecast is all about the heat at the moment. We have a big area of high pressure sitting across Europe.
